Peugeot Landtrek

The cabin of the Peugeot Landtrek has a great sense of modernity, with a unique asymmetric layout for the dashboard and a host of modern features usually not found in pickups of its segment. Being a European offering, the build quality and fit and finish levels feel uncompromised, while retaining the tough-as-nails image of a pickup.

The Peugeot Landtrek comes with a unique two-spoke, flat-bottom, multi-functional steering wheel, which has a large centre boss and silver accents around the controls on it. Behind the steering wheel, which is both tilt and telescopic adjustable, the modern-looking instrument console has a 4.2-inch TFT screen for the MID.

The asymmetric centre console has a unique design with silver surrounds, which accommodates the AC vents and switches for the dual-zone automatic climate control. A 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system sits at the top of the centre console, while the lower centre console has a cascading design for the toggle-like switches panel and transmission lever. Other features of this cabin include a push start-stop button, rear AC vents and a 6-way power adjustable driver’s seat.

While the Landtrek takes a lot of design cues from the modern crossovers and monocoque SUVs from Peugeot, it does feature the rugged and intimidating stance that is pickup truck of its segment should possess.

The front profile of the Peugeot Landtrek features a striking trapezoidal grille in the front as the attention grabber. Here, the grille comes with chrome surrounds and gets Peugeot’s lion logo placed in the middle. The side edges of the grille are flanked by big block-shaped housings for the headlamps, which house LED projectors and twin daytime running LEDs on the inner edges. The fog lamp housings also get chrome garnish on their lower edges, while the front bumper looks rugged with the presence of a silver skid plate.

The Peugeot Landtrek has got a towering stance from the side, with the pickup getting a high ground clearance and 18-inch machined alloy wheels. The squared wheel arches have sharp contours over the fenders above them, while the door handles, window waistline and rearview mirrors get chrome treatment. For a more butch look and stance, the Landtrek comes equipped with roof rails and side steps. The rear profile of the Landtrek is not as visually captivating as the front, with the pickup having vertically-laid tail lamps and a chrome-finished handle for the deck lid.

The Peugeot Landtrek features double wishbones at the front and leaf springs at the rear, which offer a durable and rugged suspension combination to tackle all adversities. The mechanical prowess of the Landtrek is further enhanced by the four-wheel drive system with a rear differential lock for driving flawlessly over off-road terrains.

The Peugeot Landtrek has a 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine under its hood, which is the only engine option offered for the pickup truck. Paired with a 6-speed torque converter, the engine produces a maximum power output of 150 PS and a peak torque output of 350 Nm. There are two drive modes – Eco and Sport, based on which the power delivery is altered and provided optimally.

The Peugeot Landtrek is optimally equipped with a range of safety features like front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, electronic stability program, dynamic stability control, brake assist, hill start assist, hill descent control, lane departure warning and tyre pressure monitoring system.
