Peugeot 308 THP Active order books open, starting from RM121k est.

Kuala Lumpur: Hatchback segment is revived again as the order books are open for the Peugeot 308 THP Active across all the Peugeot showrooms in the country. The 308 THP active is the all new hatchback entry from the house of French carmaker in the Malaysian market, it is a C-segment hatchback starting at an estimated price of RM120,888.

The latest facelift is comparatively more affordable than the original variant of the car introduced by the company earlier in August 2015. 308 Active can surely be relinquished for its new features and equipment which are reflected very well in its price.

The car is being powered by a 1.6 litre four cylinder twin scroll turbocharged engine coupled to an AT6 six-speed Aisin-sourced transmission with Quickshift. This petrol powerhouse generates a total of 150 HP at 5000 rpm and 240 nm of torque at 1450 rpm.

A lot has been revised in the all new 308 Active, the exterior of 308 Active now has an addition of halogen reflector headlights at the front instead of full LED lights. Also, the car now features a refurbished bumper to accommodate LED daytime running lights along with fog lamps.

The side profile of the 308 Active gets 17-inch “Rubis” alloys instead of the 18 inch “Sapphire” on the earlier variant. Also, this time the keyless entry system with push start is not present which can be speculated by looking at the key holes on the gate.

On the inside, the 308 THP sustains the Peugeot i-Cockpit with an all new monochrome trip computer display screen which was coloured in the earlier model. The car also features a 9.7-inch HD touchscreen with infotainment display coupled with a 3D Arkamys sound system.

On the safety front, 308 THP Active is loaded with a plethora of features. The French carmaker has featured the car with an impressive count of six airbags including front, side and curtain along with ESP unit. Although, the Peugeot will not receive the driver assistance systems like Cruise Control, emergency collision braking, emergency collision alert.

Peugeot 308 THP Active will be made available in the choice of five colours namely, Mocha Brown, Pearl White, Rouge Red, Artense Grey and Nera Black.

The all new Peugeot is all primed to compete against it's American rival Ford Focus, which is priced at RM113k.
