Peugeot 308 THP Active Displayed at the Peugeot Glenmarie Showroom

Kuala Lumpur: Joining the older Peugeot 308 THP is the all-new Peugeot 308 THP Active. Displayed at the Peugeot Glenmarie showroom, this hatchback is yet to be launched in Malaysia. The estimated price tag for this car comes to RM120,888 which is a bit less than the current 308 THP that is sold for RM132,888 (on-the-road including GST and insurance). These low prices make this car all the more desirable.

Under the hood, it is powered by a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine which churns out a maximum power of 150 hp at 5000 rpm along with a peak torque of 240 Nm at 1450 rpm. Further, this robust engine is mated to an AT6 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

Towards the exterior, the LED headlamps are replaced with the halogen ones which are automatic and comes with leveling function. Below that, its body coloured bumper houses a pair of LED daytime running lights along with circular fog lamps. The keyholes beside the door handle hint towards an absence of keyless entry and push start as well. Talking about wheels, the older 18-inch 'sapphire' wheels are replaced by 17-inch 'rubis' alloy wheels. The rear end has been carried forward from the older Peugeot 308 THP apart from the reverse camera. Further, the all new Peugeot 308 THP Active is available in five colour options namely Mocha Brown, Nera Black, Artense Grey, Pearl White which is available for an extra RM1,590 and lastly Rouge Red which is currently displayed at the Peugeot Glenn-Marie showroom.

Moving towards the interior, its Alcantara leather-wrapped sports seats have been replaced by fabric ones which lack the lumbar support and electric massage function as well. Additional features include a 9.7-inch HD touchscreen further assessed with the infotainment system and a 6-speaker 3D Arkamys sound system. Safety features of Peugeot 308 THP Active include a six airbag mechanism along with ESP. However, all other safety features have not been retained in this hatchback.
