NAZA Kia Malaysia Announces a New T-GDI Engine for Kia Cerato Koup

Kuala Lumpur: NAZA Kia Malaysia, the official distributor of Kia vehicles has announced a new Turbo Gasoline Direct Injection (T-GDI) engine for its Kia Cerato Koup. The Kia Cerato price for this new performance-oriented variant is rolled out at RM135,888. It is for the first time that NAZA Kia Malaysia is launching a car with a turbocharged engine in Malaysia. The company said in a statement this car aims for those buyers who are looking for a performance-based vehicle along with sporty looks.

Under the hood, this all-new Kia Cerato Koup would be getting an efficient 1.6-litre Turbo-GDI 4-cylinder engine which churns out a maximum power of 204 PS along with a peak torque of 265 Nm. Further, it is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission which sends power to its front wheels. From a position of halt, it reaches an acceleration of 100 kmph in 7.4 seconds. As told by the automaker, their previous petrol mill was a big hit in the Malaysian market, so they are expecting the same with Turbo-GDI as well. Moreover, they also consider it to be one of the fastest and most affordable car available in this segment.

Towards the exterior, Kia Cerato Koup features the company's trademark slim grille along with HID headlamps and LED projection fog lamps. The side profile is further accentuated by gloss black wing mirrors and door handles along with frameless doors. Further, this car rides on huge 18-inch alloy wheels. Its rear end gets a pair of LED taillights, LED high mounted stop lamps and dual exhaust pipes. Inside, the whole cockpit is designed with high-quality materials and is driver oriented as well. The instrument cluster gets an LCD screen along with TFT colour. The electrically-adjustable driver seats get a lumbar support along with air ventilation. Additional features include a sunroof, automatic dual-zone air conditioner and auto defog system. Further, safety features include a complete 6 airbag mechanism.
