Mercedes-Benz EQS launched in Malaysia at RM 698,888
KUALA LUMPUR: After a few teasers, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has finally launched its second electric car, the EQS, after the EQA. As an electric alternative to the S-Class, the EV comes in a single imported variant - EQS 450+, priced at RM 698,888 (on-the-road without insurance, with SST).

Exterior
The stunning luxury sedan comes with a futuristic styling, which covers a black panel front grille with a 3D star pattern, Digital Light LED headlights linked by a light band, 3D helix tail lights, AMG Line body kit, and 21-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.
The drag coefficient of the EQS is just 0.20 Cd, which makes it the world’s most aerodynamic production car.
Against the measuring tape, it measures 5,216 mm in length, 1,926 mm in width, 1,512 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,210 mm. Compared to the ICE-powered S-Class, the EQS is slightly smaller.
Performance
Under the shiny skin, the Mercedes EQS comes equipped with a single electric motor, which gets power from a 107.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The setup delivers a maximum power of 333 hp and a peak torque of 565 Nm, which allows the EV to complete the century sprint in 6.2 seconds before attaining a top speed of 210 kmph.
The WLTP-rated range of the Mercedes-Benz EQS is 782 km. As for charging, it takes just 31 minutes to get charged up to 80% when using a 200 kW DC charger. However, an 11kW onboard AC charger completes the 100% task in 10 hours.
Interior
Just like the exterior, the interior of the brand’s flagship EV can also impress anyone at a single glance. Among its cosmetic highlights are black/Balao brown Nappa leather upholstery, a black headliner, an anthracite line structure, lime wood trim, and velour floor mats. The hi-tech equipment list includes -
