Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing revealed a new 2250-hp Racing Boat

KUALA LUMPUR: Undoubtedly, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series is one of the most outstanding sports cars available in the market. Taking it as a base, Mercedes-AMG introduced a new racing boat in association with Cigarette Racing, which is called the Cigarette 41’ Nighthawk AMG Black Series.

This is the 13th boat jointly developed by the Mercedes-AMG design team, Daimler Group chief designing officer, and Cigarette Racing Team. For those who are not aware, Cigarette Racing is a U.S.-based company producing high-quality racing boats for decades.

Just like the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series, the racing boat is not short on power. It uses five racing-grade engines; all are 4.6-litre V8 Mercury Racing 450R units, producing 450 peak prop shaft hp individually. Together, the setup churns out a whopping power output of 2,250 hp that enables the fairly large boat to hit a top speed of 144 kmph.

The Nighthawk AMG Black Series boat mechanical setup gets an advanced shadowing throttle system for controlling the engines, the rider needs to use only two levers to control all the engines simultaneously. Contributing to the remarkable performance on the water is the boat’s twin-step hull design. It is fitted with a lightweight carbon fiber hardtop and a deck and has a low centre of gravity for better handling.

The gorgeous boat is decked up in a Magma Beam orange and black exterior with ‘AMG' logos painted towards the bow in a repeating pattern. At the centre of the boat is located a central console with a helm and cabin. The helm has three Garmin 8617 multi-functional displays flush-mounted to a heat-resistant instrument panel. It is lit by RGB LED accent lighting.

For sitting, there is an open bow at the front, an L-shaped lounge at the rear, and also a U-shaped seating at the bow. The seats have Cigarette Cool upholstery that effectively dissipates heat avoiding discomfort in sitting. Also, there are stainless steel grab bars and an ergonomic CNC-machined footrest for the total comfort of the passengers. Adding to the enjoyment is the premium Audio Marine audio system.
