Meet the 2500 unit limited Lexus RX Black Line edition

KUALA LUMPUR: It was only last month that Lexus announced a limited-edition RXL Black Line model. The automaker made no comments regarding the regular RX model back then for the 2022 model year. However, now Lexus has made it clear that RX will be only receiving Black Line treatment for 2022.

We’d like to mention that the Lexus RX Black Line series is one of the most sought after models in the United States. The automaker introduced the limited edition Black Line models for the RX 350 and RX 450h F Sport. Not to forget the July revealed RXL Black Line.

For August 2021, Lexus has another batch of Black Line trim in stock, available on both the RX 350 and RX 450h. Modest visual makeover with dark trim is a given, also included in the Black Line kit are -

• 20-inch black wheels and lug nuts
• Black mirrors
• Black lower front bumper
• Black Lexus spindle grille
• Exclusive black nameplate

The 2022 Lexus RX Black Line will be offered in two exterior hues - Eminent White Pearl and Caviar.

Wait, the Black Line visual enhancements continue on the inside as well. For instance, both the models get -

• Black open-pore wood trim
• Black NuLuxe seats
• Light grey contrasting stitching on the seats, steering wheel, centre console, shift box, & upper instrument panel

Furthermore, the 2022 Black Line trims benefit from all the strappings of the automaker's Premium Package, Memory System for the driver's seat, steering wheel, and side mirrors.

Like the RXL Black Line, the RX Black Line production would be limited, however, the latter would be manufactured in much larger quantities. Lexus will build 2500 units of the RX Black Line for the US market, of which 400 will be hybrid variants (RX 450h) and 2100 will be gas models (RX 350).

Price?

In the US, the 2022 RX 450h Black Line is priced at US $52,150 (approx. RM 219k) and the RX 350 Black Line retails for US $49,450 (RM 270k).
