Maserati Ghibli and Levante F Tributo Special Editions revealed
KUALA LUMPUR: In the world of motorsports, Maserati is known for its pure competition spirit, unprecedented wins, and unrivalled achievements. The automaker made its debut at the racetrack in April 1926, and now after 95 years, it has rolled out two special models, commemorating the brand’s racing heritage viz. the Ghibli F Tributo and the Levante F Tributo. The special packages added a slew of visual tweaks to the standard models that help them stand out while giving a nod to Maserati’s racing history.
What does F Tributo stand for?
Maserati explains that F refers to ‘Fangio’, the driver who made his mark on an Era. And, Tributo refers to homage to the glorious victories of the past.
Besides the name, the special edition models colour schemes also signify the racing past. Of the two exclusive colours, the first is Rosso Tributo (Red) on the Ghibli. Red is the colour of Italian motorsports, and in the past, Maserati cars always raced in the paintwork of this colour. In the early years of the last century, it represented the country in motor racing. On the other hand, we have Azzurro Tributo i,e, bright, vibrant blue on the Levante. It is one of the colours of the City of Modena, the brand’s historic home.
After colouring, we can observe further references to Fangio’s 250F in the form of yellow brake calipers and wheel trims. Completing the F Tributo special edition look is a body-coloured trident logo on the C- pillar and a glossy black badge on the wheel arch. The Ghibli F Tributo is fitted with 21-inch Titano glossy black wheels, while the Levante F Tributo runs on Anteo 21-inch wheels finished in black.
In contrast with exterior details, the Maserati F Tributo special edition models get red or yellow stitching throughout the cabin, which is teamed up with the Black full-grain “Pieno Fiore” leather. The Ghibli comes with a 10.1-inch infotainment system as standard, while Levante has an 8.4-inch display.
Maserati’s F Tributo special models will hit the UK showrooms later this year, with prices commencing from £91,885 (RM 521,743) for the Levante and £87,565 (RM 497,225) for the Ghibli.
