Malaysia gets the all-new 2024 Toyota Alphard and Vellfire

KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota has launched the highly-anticipated Toyota Alphard and Vellfire in Malaysia. Based on the brand’s new TNGA platform, the upgraded MPV twins feature a more refined design, and state-of-the-art technologies, offering customers efficient and luxurious transportation solutions. Let’s know the new Toyota MPVs in detail.

2024 Toyota Alphard

Price: The 7-seater Alphard is offered in a fully imported 2.4T Executive Lounge guise, priced at RM 538,000 (on the road, without insurance). Included in the price is a 5-year unlimited mileage factory warranty.

Engine: The Malaysian-spec 2023 Toyota Alphard is paired with a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged Dual VVT-i which cranks out a maximum power of 278 PS and a peak torque of 430 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a Direct Shift 8-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior: The new Alphard is 65 mm longer and 55 mm taller than its predecessor. It features the 'Forceful x IMPACT LUXURY' design language with a wide grille trimmed in dark chrome, embedded LED daytime running lights, tri-LED headlamps, new tail lamps, and 19-inch alloy wheels. 

Interior: Inside the new Toyota Alphard, we get a clean and classy cockpit with smooth and soft materials, a multifunctional steering wheel with electrostatic switches, Executive Lounge VIP seats, and ‘Premium Nappa Leather upholstery. The colour choices include - all-black and a beige-black combination. 

Parts of the equipment are - a 12.3-inch coloured TFT instrument display, head-up display, a 14-inch infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity, 15-speaker JBL sound system, 64-colour roof illumination & fixed panoramic glass roof, power-adjustable seats with massage, seat heater, and ventilation functions, 14-inch rear seat display, and electric parking Brake with brake hold. 

Safety: As for safety, the MPV gets 6 SRS Airbags, a Panoramic View Monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense, which includes a Pre-Collision System, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Adaptive High Beam System, Road Sign Assist, Lane Departure Alert, and Lane Tracing Alert.

Colours - Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, Precious Leo-Blond, and Black 

2024 Toyota Vellfire

Price: UMW Toyota offers the new Vellfire in a sole 2.5 variant, which carries a price tag of RM 438,000 (on the road, without insurance). The price includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty against manufacturing defects.

Engine: Powering the 2023 Toyota Vellfire is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated Dual VVT-i engine that delivers 182 PS and 235 Nm. It is paired with a 7-speed Super CVT-i gearbox.

Exterior: The new Toyota Vellfire Is 75 mm longer and 55 mm shorter than its predecessor. Just like the Alphard, the upgraded Vellfire also features the Forceful x IMPACT LUXURY' design language. It sports a prominent front grille with dark chrome trim and integrated LED DRLs, tri-LED headlamps, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior: The interior of the new Vellfire is all-black and comes kitted with plush materials, a multifunction steering wheel with physical switches, synthetic leather upholstery, Executive Power seats, and paddle shifters. Other features remain the same as the new Alphard.

Safety: The safety kit of the two MPVs is identical.

Colours - Platinum White Pearl, Precious Metal, and Black.
