Malaysia gets Mini 60 Years Edition, priced at RM 256k

KUALA LUMPUR: The Mini 60 Years Edition has been officially introduced in the country. The Malaysia-spec model is offered in only one trim option - a Cooper S 3 Door hatchback. The automaker will be offering only 60 units of this limited-edition collector’s model. It has been built to celebrate Mini’s 60 years of existence, and the car will be available in Malaysia soon.

The car would be offered in two exterior color splashes - a new British Racing Green (explicitly recreated for the limited-edition model) with a Pepper White mirror cap and roof. Also on offer is a Melting Silver tone that is coupled with a Jet Black mirror caps and roof.

One can identify the car in the crowd easily as it comes with some unique elements like 60 years badging on the side scuttle and anniversary-specific black bonnet stripes with British Oak and Aspen White pinstripes. The side mirror also projects 60 years logo on the floor.

On the equipment front, the car comes loaded with exclusive 17-inch 60 Years Spoke two-tone alloy wheels, LED headlights, LED fog lamps with turn signals, and LED taillights in Union Jack layout.

Like the outside, the inside too reminds the owner that it’s a 60 Year edition. The cabin is wrapped in Mini Yours leather upholstery in dark maroon and contrasting green stitching.

There is also a MINI Excitement Package on offer that includes ambient lighting adjustment with as many as 12 colors to choose from.

The car is powered by the same tried and tested Cooper S powerplant - a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TwinPower turbo mill that churns out a maximum power of 192 hp along with a peak torque of 280 Nm. The engine is paired to a 7-speed DCT Steptronic sports gearbox. The car can touch the 100 kmph mark in 6.7 seconds and has a top speed of 235 kmph.

The car costs RM 255,888 (on-the-road without insurance) and owners purchasing it before Aug 31st will be able to enjoy coverage under the 60 Months Mini Service + Repair Inclusive programme.
