Lexus Malaysia officially launches 2019 NX 300 range

KUALA LUMPUR: 2019 Lexus NX 300 range is finally here in Malaysia, and it comes as a great revision over the first model that surfaced in 2017. The all-new NX 300 lineup offers improved equipment and that too a lower price tag, thus making the car an attractive treat.

The hybrid NX 300h trim has been dropped by the company, leaving the Premium, Urban, and F Sport on offer. All these variants are powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo mill that offers 235 hp of power and 350 Nm of torque. The 8AR-FTS twin-scroll engine is coupled to a six-speed conventional automatic transmission with shift paddles and Dynamic Torque Control AWD. With the above configuration the car cover 0 to 100 kmph mark in 7.1 seconds and showcases a top-speed of 200 kmph.

One of the most significant revisions made the NX 300 range is the addition of the Lexus Safety System+ (LSS+) on all the variants. According to the company, the LSS+ takes care of three key areas of accident/collision protection - enhancing visibility during night driving, keeping drivers within their lane, and preventing or mitigating frontal collisions.

Features included in LSS+ safety kit are Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Brake Collision Assist, Lane Departure Alert (LDA), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), and Active Cornering Assist (ACA). Other safety features that keep the driver and passenger protected are the eight airbags (including driver’s knee airbag and front passenger cushion airbag) and reverse camera with dynamic guidelines. The Premium trim also gets Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Sport Monitor.
