Lamborghini bags record-high sales and profits in fiscal year 2019
KUALA LUMPUR: It’s time for celebration for the Italian automaker Lamborghini as it achieved the best results for the fiscal year 2019, marking record-high sales and profit figures for the company. With this, the automaker is now entering new dimensions in its growth plan. The sports car producer outperformed all its previous records since the last 56 years of business benchmarks, sales, turnover, and profitability and this is all indeed remarkable.
Over the span of January to December 2019, the Automobili Lamborghini sold 8,205 units globally, marking a 43% increase compared to the same period in 2018. Prominent to this record-high growth is extraordinary sales targets in America, Europe, Middle-East, Africa and the Asia Pacific.
This celebration and rejoice is, however, overshadowed by the gruesome circumstances the world is currently facing. Coronavirus pandemic has led to the shutdown of various automobile production plants which is hitting hard on the global auto industry. Italy itself is facing a strict lockdown situation and under such exceptional challenges, it will not be a great idea to celebrate
Lamborghini currently has 165 dealers across 52 countries and the main drivers to this remarkable success story of the automaker are Urus SUV, of which 4,962 units are sold globally, followed by Huracán with 2,139 units sold worldwide and Aventador with 1,104 units sold. Lamborghini’s turnover also shot up by 28%, from RM6.72 billion in 2018 to RM8.56 billion in 2019.
Besides that, Lamborghini was also awarded the Top Employer Italia certification for the seventh consecutive year, making it one of the most attractive and preferred employers in 2019. It was also noted that the employee headcount for 2019 was around 1,787. The best thing about it as an employer is that it offers equal pay scheme for female and male employees with the same qualifications and roles, and initiatives promoting equal parenting.
Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini shared his views with the press that “In Fiscal Year 2019 Lamborghini continued its sustained history of growth and extraordinary performance, setting remarkable key business figures. But while we celebrate this growth, we should also be courteous towards the current underlying situation, that the world is facing. From both human and corporate perspective, we should also stand together in this. Our country is living through a situation that we never anticipated to happen and on behalf of the whole company, I would like to thank all the people, especially those in the services, medical and health sectors, institutions and the security forces that are contributing to manage this crisis in their best possible capacity”.
Lamborghini is constantly evolving in terms of advancement and technology and preparing itself for more sustainable growth and new opportunities.
