KLIMS 2018: Honda showcases its Jazz Mugen concept

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda’s booth at the ongoing Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2018 was kept busy courtesy the flamboyant Jazz Mugen concept that was up on the display. Finished in attractive Passion Red Pearl color, this Honda just created its own fan following.

Honda Jazz Mugen concept is based on a Grade V variant of the latest Jazz. Honda revealed the Mugen accessories prototype with the 2017 Jazz, and now, the Jazz Mugen concept is here which carries a few parts from the old accessories package like the rear bumper extension, Mugen logo on the front grille and the tailgate spoiler, and the 17-inch Mugen two-tone alloys wheels that come with 205/45 profile tyres.

Now let’s talk about what’s all-new in the Honda Jazz Mugen concept. The front end gets a newly designed bumper. To be honest, it doesn’t look that appealing. Perhaps, because of the distinctive three-hole cutout for DRLs that can be seen on the lower part. Honda could have done much better here. Anyway, moving on, the rear of the car also gets a sporty bumper and the roof-mounted spoiler adds to the whole character.

For some reason, Honda decided to not include a few interesting features that we saw with the Mugen accessories prototype like the window line sticker strip and the twin exhaust pipe finishers. Who doesn’t like twin exhaust pipes? As far as the interior and engine are concerned, there are no changes whatsoever on the display unit. Honda might bring in an update to match the sportiness of the exterior.

It is being speculated that Honda might be interested in launching the Jazz Mugen concept in the market sooner or later. And it will also bring the gorgeous Passion Red Pearl color, which was first seen on the facelifted HR-V RS, to the Jazz. There are no details regarding the timelines or price, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see a slight hike.
