Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia launches 2021 Range Rover Velar

KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, you read it just right. Malaysia now has the all-new 2021 Range Rover Velar 2.0L R-Dynamic. The car comes with several improvements ranging from driver's aid to cabin design and tech.

Let’s now check out all the changes/differences in the 2021 Range Rover Velar -

• Like many Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles in the past decade, this one too witnesses the departure of the rotary knob. There is now a brand new shifter and a revised steering wheel with integrated ‘Smart buttons’ and hands-on wheel detection feature
  

 

• As expected the 2021 Range Rover Velar cabin is expectedly digital with inclusions like a 12.3-inch interactive display, a pair of 10-inch touchscreens infotainment systems, and coloured head-up display
• Also, part of the kit is the automaker’s new ‘Pivi Pro’ infotainment system that simultaneously offers hands-free connectivity to the driver and a passenger. How? It allows the pairing of two devices at a time without interrupting any existing connection

• The car also features the Meridian Sound System that doubles up as an NVH improvement tool as it comes with an Active Road Noise Cancellation system
• As mentioned above, the 2021 Velar benefits from new driver aids. The kit includes a 3D surround camera (produces a 3D view of the car), electronic air suspension with automatic access height (ride height drop to 10 mm automatically above 105 kmph, the driver can increase/decrease the ground clearance by up to 50 mm using the touchscreen/keyfob/buttons)
  
• The Wade Sensing has been re-introduced, it alerts the driver when the vehicle approaches the wading depth limit

What powers the new Range Rover Velar?

Under the hood configuration remains unchanged, i.e., a P250 powertrain making a maximum power of 249 PS along with a peak torque of 365 Nm. Power is sent to the wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.

Price

The 2021 Range Rover Velar 2.0L R-Dynamic retails for RM 612,208, it includes a 50% SST exception and excludes insurance cost, road tax, and registration.

The 2021 Velar will be fully imported from the automaker's Solihull production facility located in the UK.
