Honda Malaysia increases price of Jazz Hybrid and City Hybrid
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has increased the price tag of Jazz Hybrid and City Hybrid for the Malaysian market. Now, Honda Jazz Hybrid comes at RM87,707 and Honda City Hybrid is priced at RM92,172, excluding insurance. However, the price tags of the remaining variants of these two cars remain unchanged.
Prior to this, Honda Jazz Hybrid and City Hybrid were priced at RM80,091 and RM84,167, respectively. The increment is reportedly due to the revision in government incentives for the CKD hybrid cars. Both the cars are now costlier than the range-topping variants, which is common for hybrid cars. Due to the extra hardware, they generally cost extra charge.
Speaking of the models, both the cars are CKD and locally-assembled in Malacca. The existing Honda Jazz Hybrid arrived in the Malaysian market two years ago. Malaysia is the only country apart from Japan to get the car.
It is powered by a Sport Hybrid i-DCD system. It consists of a 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is mated to a seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission along with the integrated electric motor and a Li-ion battery.
Honda City Hybrid also arrived in Malaysia in the year 2017. Outside Japan, Malaysia is the only market to get the car, as Jazz Hybrid. Moreover, it also shares the same powertrain with the Jazz Hybrid. Along with the 30 PS/160 Nm electric motor, the whole system churns out a maximum power of 137 PS and a peak torque of 170 Nm. For the Jazz, the fuel consumption is 25 kmpl, while for the City, it is 25.6 kmpl.
