Honda Civic hatchback facelift arrives in Thailand

KUALA LUMPUR: The facelift variant of Honda Civic hatchback has hit the dealerships in Thailand. The car has been launched in a sole RS trim and is priced at 1.229 million baht (RM168,712). However, the pricing for the RS sedan starts from 1.219 million baht (RM167,339).

The facelifted Civic RS hatchback is powered by the carmaker’s 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is capable of churning out a maximum power of 173 hp at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 220 Nm between 1,700 rpm and 5,500 rpm. The figures are identical to those of the sedan, and the same goes for the transmission unit as well. A CVT gearbox is present to send the power to all the four wheels.

Moving to the design, the facelifted five-door hatch flaunts a revamped front and rear bumper. Moreover, gloss black accents have been provided to the bumper trim surrounds and front grille. One unique feature that distinguishes the hatch from the sedan is the central twin exhaust pipe unit.

The exhaust pipes are mated to a black diffuser assembly, which is placed under the rear bumper. The stock car runs on a set of 17-inch wheels covered in 215/50R17 tyres. It comes with a plethora of safety features such as adaptive cruise control along with low-speed follow (ACC with LSF), collision mitigation braking system (CMBS), road departure mitigation system (RDM), lane-keeping assist system (LKAS), automatic high-beam and lane departure warning (LDW).

Additional equipment list includes auto brake hold, LaneWatch blind-spot monitoring, stability control (VSA), hill start assist, and a multi-angle rearview camera. In addition to that, the hatchback variant of Civic for Thailand can be customized with Modulo accessories, which include mirror trim, wheels, and chrome garnish.
