Here’s all you need to know about Volvo’s global recall

KUALA LUMPUR: It was later yesterday that Volvo Cars announced a massive global recall which concerns a braking issue and involves more than 100k cars.

Key information about Volvo Cars' latest recall

• The recall involves around 106,900 cars worldwide
• The recall models include seven of its 2023 models including, the C40, XC40, V60, S60, XC60, XC90, and V90
• The recall is over a speculated brake fault wherein a driver may experience a stiff or hard brake pedal, leading to a potential loss of brake support functions. The latter includes - ABS, ESC, Adaptive Cruise Control, traction control, one-pedal drive, and Pilot Assist along with active safety & city safety functions
• An over-the-air software update will resolve the issue completely, so need a service appointment

While the issue seems quite serious, so far no crashes, fatalities, or injuries have been reported. The owners of the affected Volvo cars will most likely receive notification starting March 15, 2023.
