GWM Malaysia to host unique public off-road test drive for Tank 300: 20 - 21July at M4TREC, Semenyih

KUALA LUMPUR:  Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia will be hosting an off-road test drive event at the M4TREC 4WD training and experience centre in Semenyih to allow interested buyers to experience how capable their new Tank 300 is.

This event also marks the recent launch of the GWM TANK 300 in Malaysia. The fully imported (CBU) off-road SUV is competitively priced at RM 250,000 (on the road without insurance) and is available in four colours: Dusk Orange, Fossil Grey, Crystal Black, and Pearl White.

The event will provide attendees with a hands-on experience of the TANK 300's capabilities, featuring custom-designed obstacles and challenges. If the challenges are exactly like the ones the media went through, it really would show how capable the Tank 300 is as it will have to go past quite challenging obstacles that’s not for the faint hearted. The M4TREC centre will feature several challenging obstacles for the TANK 300, including a Log Bridge, Axle Twister, Ridge Crossing, Log Track, Hill Descent, and Hill Climb.

The Tank 300 boasts a unique build with ladder frame construction, a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 220PS and 380Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a 4WD system featuring traditional 4Low, 4High, and 2High settings. It includes a transfer case with low-range gearing and locking differentials.

Modern tech enhances its off-road capabilities, including a transparent chassis function that uses cameras to display the underside of the car, crawl control (essentially cruise control for off-road environments), and Tank Turn Assist, which helps achieve a sharper turning circle.
