Lexus Malaysia has introduced two new trims (one-each) in its ES and RX model lineup. While the former gets an all-new ES 250 Limited Edition model priced at RM 327,510, the latter is now offered in an RX 300 Luxury Special Edition model that retails for RM 421,909. Included is a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.

We'll now discuss each of the two cars one-by-one, starting with the

Lexus ES Limited Edition

Exterior

The ES LES exterior showcases a sharp appearance, however, it still looks elegant and graceful at the same time. The front fascia is dominated by the super-stylish Lexus signature spindle grille unit featuring vertical wings that ripple outward. On either side of the grille is present a sleek 3-Bi-beam LED projector headlamps (derived from Lexus LS and LC models) with integrated DRLs.

The side features a sleek cabin silhouette that expresses grace at all corners. Thanks to the all-new GAK platform, the car features a low center of gravity that contributes towards excellent handling. Owners will also get to enjoy 18-inch aluminum wheels with a noise reduction design.

On the rear, it gets combination tail lights with the brand's signature L-shaped design integrated with fog lamps. The rear diffuser looks elegant and smartly hides the tailpipes, likewise, the rear garnish hides the rear camera.

Its 420-litre boot can fit up to four golf bags and opens with a simple hands-free kick open sensor.

Interior

As one can expect, the cabin of the Lexus RX is very well designed and is loaded with best-in-class features. For instance, it comes with
smart entry and start system, Lexus keycard, full-digital combination meter with 7-inch colour TFT, drive modes (eco, sport, & normal), dynamic radar cruise control, Lane tracing assist, powered steering wheel and driver's seat, 10-way adjustable driver seat, front seats with ventilation and heating, Lexus climate concierge, two-way power reclining rear seats, and rear armrest control panel.

Engine

At the heart of the car is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine making a maximum power of 204 hp and a peak torque of
247 Nm. The power is sent to the wheels via a direct-shift 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Safety

Part of the Lexus 250 ES safety kit is the Lexus Safety System+ that features a Dynamic radar cruise control, Pre-collision system, Adaptive High-Beam System, and Lane Keeping System.

2021 Lexus RX Luxury Special Edition

Exterior

The all-new RX LSE SUV is crafted to deliver excellent performance, comfort, and safety. But above all, it is designed in the most tasteful manner that will grab the attention around the clock. At the front it gets a sport looking bumper which is the perfect example of form meeting function, as it contributes to the car's aerodynamic quotient. Also, the LED headlights benefit from Lexus signature L-shaped clearance lamps.

On the side, the illuminated door handles with puddle lamps clearly indicate the handle's location at night and it also illuminates a pool of light underneath. The car runs on 20-inch aluminum wheels with customizable colour trims. The sleek lines we see around are more than just aesthetics; they improve the aerodynamics and optimize fuel efficiency.

At the rear are present striking rear lamps with 4-large L-shaped Lexus motifs on the upper and inverted L-shaped motifs on the lower lamp. The rear bumper showcases the RX's 'Seductive Strength' design.

Interior

The cabin uses refined natural materials, including leather, metal, and wood. Thus creating a tasteful contrast with subtle advanced technology. It comes with EMV touch display, overhead console LED lamp switches, wireless charger, smartphone holder, USB ports/power outlets/mini-jack, large luggage space, power back door consols, power-folding second-row seats, rear door window sun shades, remote touch interface, 4.2-inch TFT multi-info display, and remote touch interface.

Engine

The car is powered by a 2.0-litre Direct Injection Turbocharged mill with Dual VVT-i that delivers a maximum power output of 235 hp along with a peak torque of 350 Nm. The said mill is paired to a 6-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all-wheels.

Safety

Like the ES 250 limited edition sedan, the RX 300 Luxury Special Edition SUV also benefits from the company's Safety System+ suite of safety features. It also gets 10 SRS airbags, blind spot monitor, LED cornering lights, 360-degree protection via high strength, collision absorbing body, and Lane tracing assist.
