First-half of 2022 was encouraging for Bentley, sales figures out now
KUALA LUMPUR: In the list of automakers to reveal H1 2022 sales performance included Honda Malaysia, Lamborghini, and now Bentley. Like the two car makers, Bentley also had a pretty good sales run from January to July 2022, despite the global economic uncertainty the market is experiencing.

As for the turnover, it hiked from €1.324 billion (during H1 2021) to €1.707 billion (H1 2022). Also, a striking jump was seen on the revenue front, from €186,000, to €213,000. According to Bentley, it was mainly due to the high levels of personalisation opted by the customers.
Let's now discuss Bentley's model - and market-wise sales distribution for H1 2022. Starting with the models, the Bentayga SUV with a 40 percent share in the total sales became the top-selling Bentley model for H1 2022. It was closely followed by the Continental GT Grand Tourer and Flying Spur sedan with 33 percent and 27 percent respectively.

The market that proved most profitable for the brand was the United Kingdom with year-to-date sales going up by 44 percent. Europe was not far behind with a 33 percent hike. In both markets, Bentley recently introduced the Continental GT Speed which is being credited for the growth. The United States remained a strong market for the brand, while the sales figures from China were impacted the most, mainly due to extended COVID-19 lockdowns.

The luxury British carmaker recently announced its forward-looking Beyond100 strategy wherein it will reinvent its entire line-up and direct it towards an electrified future. Thus achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. To fulfil its goal, the carmaker has planned a
€3 billion ten-year investment programme towards its future models and the Pyms Lane factory in Crewe.
