First BMW i3s delivered by Auto Bavaria
KUALA LUMPUR: It was at the 2019 Malaysia Autoshow that BMW officially launched its latest electric car, the i3s. Shortly after that, the automaker revealed the price tag of the car, and now we hear that the first BMW i3s has been delivered.
The first unit of the BMW electric car has been delivered to Lim Chau Wei - the very first customer of the i3s in the country.
Wong Loke Win, the dealer principal of Auto Bavaria Penang at the handover ceremony, said, “Today marks another milestone for us at Auto Bavaria as the sole distributor of BMW i in Malaysia. We are extremely excited to deliver our first i3s to Lim Chau Wei. Lim and his family members are loyal supporters of the BMW brand, but more than this, they have a futurist mindset in choosing to be early adopters of the mobility of the future.”
Besides delivering the first BMW i3s in Malaysia, Auto Bavaria also launched the new BMW i Charging facility at the Hotel G Kelawai in Penang. The said charging facility is built over a total area of 256 sq feet on the level B1 of the hotel. The Hotel G Kelawai charging facility comprises of two BMW i Wallbox Plus charges that will cater to both BMW i Performance plug-in hybrid vehicles and BMW i pure electric vehicle.
Mr. Wong further added that “Sustainable mobility thrives where there is an effective combination of three factors: customer demand, facilities, and innovative partnerships.” He said the automaker’s collaboration with Hotel G Kelawai Penang is the third such BMW i charging facility in the Northern region after Queensbay Mall and Hotel St. Giles. Also, Wong, along with other top officials, are optimistic about the future of BMW i brand in the country.
