Check out the Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake

KUALA LUMPUR: Mercedes-Benz has introduced the CLA Shooting Brake, a stylish wagon that can make anyone crave for it. The German automaker has packed practicality into a deluxe package, now what more an owner can ask for?

Tobias Moers, Mercedes-AMG board chairman, said the AMG CLA 35 Shooting Brake features “agile vehicle dynamics and the flexible load compartment is an attractive alternative for young customers who lead an active life.”

The Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake is powered by an M269 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo engine that churns out a maximum power of 306 PS at 5,800 rpm along with a peak torque of 400 Nm from 3,000 to 4,000 rpm. The mill mentioned above is coupled to an AMG Speedshift 7G dual-clutch gearbox along with AMG 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The above configuration allows the car to achieve the 0 to 100 kmph sprint in 4.9 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited to 250 kmph.

Mechanically speaking, it is the same as the standard C118 CLA 35. As the AMG CLA 35 4Matic Shooting Brake features the same drive mode - Comfort, Slippery, Individual, Sport, and Sport+. Also, allowing maximum acceleration from standstill is the Race-Start system that’s been integrated into the car.

On the suspension front, is present a MacPherson strut layout at the front, and the rear gets a four-link system. Thanks to the specific axle geometry present in the former unit, there is a substantial torque steer reduction, and the aluminum wishbone helps minimise the unsprung weight.

The Shooting Brake also borrows the variable ratio steering rack, brake, AMG exhaust system, and optional AMG Track Pace data logger from the regular CLA 35.

• Dinamica microfibre steering wheel
• Brushed stainless steel door sills with illuminated AMG script
