Check out the all-new 2021 Porsche Panamera facelift

KUALA LUMPUR: Happy news for luxurious car buyers, as Porsche Malaysia has launched the Panamera facelift in the country. Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) is currently offering the sedan in a single trim option that will cut you back by RM 1,026,735. The price includes a 50% SST exemption, valid till June 30.

2021 Porsche Panamera design improvements are subtle. The car benefits from the Sport Design design language (now standard) with a single-bar LED DRLs and unique intakes. It also gets matric LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, new LED taillamps, and LED light strip.

The cabin, on the other hand, looks largely the same as before, however, the automaker gives you the option to customize it the way you want. Not to forget there is a new multi-functional steering wheel.

What powers the 2021 Porsche Panamera?

The Panamera sedan sources its power from the tried and tested 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 powertrain that churns out a maximum power of 330 PS from 5,400 to 6,400 rpm along with a peak torque of 450 Nm between 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. The generated power is transmitted to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch PDK gearbox.

An interesting bit about this mill is that its maximum revolution is 6,800 rpm.

On the performance front, this 1,860 kg grand tourer covers the century sprint in 5.6 seconds and can attain a top speed of 270 kmph.

How comfortable is the facelifted Panamera?

Being a Porsche, the Panamera itself classifies for providing a super comfortable drive. However, making the sedan better in this aspect the automaker has made some improvements which come in the form of an upgraded engine, adaptive shock absorbers, enhanced steering system, axle mounts, and electronic roll stabilisation. All lead to better concerning stability and lateral dynamics. The steering has been made more precise too.

With enhanced power and comfort comes lots of responsibility, which the sedan does perfectly with its premium, lighter braking setup. At the front, it gets six-piston aluminium callipers and at the back a four-piston unit.

What about safety?

Well, the car's standard safety kit is a lot to provide a secure environment. It includes a head-up display, Lane Keeping Assist with road sign recognition, Lane Change Assist, Night Vision Assist, and Park Assist with Surround View with a 360-degree camera.
