Check 2023 BMW 3 Series facelift render, based on recent IG leak

KUALA LUMPUR: The BMW 3 Series made its world premiere three years ago, at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. But the fact that the sedan still looks fresh as new is astonishing.

However, with so many years of market experience in hand, the 3 Series is coming to an age where BMW gives its models a facelift or as the German automaker likes to call it, a Life Cycle Impulse. It was only yesterday that the image of the updated BMW 3 Series leaked online, making our assumption all the more solid. As we all know the speed with which the world operates, we have in our hands a render of the new 3 Series, based on the leaked image. It was put up at the Bimmerpost forum.

So, what does the render bring on the table? First, we see a completely revised front end with a large hexagonal centre air intake along with L-shaped gloss black corner inlets. These include reminding us of the facelifted X3 and X4 M Sport.

Also, part of the kit is a redesigned double kidney grille with angular contour, new headlights with inverted L-shaped daytime running lights.

The rear showcases a revised bumper for the M Sport version, and new 2 Series like rear diffuser design.

On the inside, we expect to see a number of revisions along with the inclusion of the all-new BMW Operating System 8 with a humongous touchscreen display.

The new BMW 3 Series range is most likely to get a new full-electric trim, most likely to be named the i3. It might feature the same power configuration as the BMW i4 - a 250 kW rear motor and 190 kW front motor. The i4 eDrive40's 83.9 kWh lithium-ion battery offers a range of up to 590 km.

The remaining lineup will be powered by the same old, tried and tested units - 2.0-litre four-cylinder and 3.0-litre six-cylinder mill. The power is sent to the wheels via a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

As per reports, the 3 Series facelift will most likely be revealed next year.
