BMW X1 sDrive20i M Sport launched in Malaysia, priced at RM 233,800
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has finally introduced the X1 sDrive20i M Sport with subtle exterior changes and M Sport Package. While the kidney grille is now larger, its two halves are connected too. The front bumper has been redesigned, comes with larger air intakes and LED fog lamps. The LED headlights have been reworked featuring hexagonal corona ring DRLs. The taillamps are now fully-LED with a new design and familiar L signature internal graphics.
The M Sport Package adds to its aesthetic appeal, brings gloss black inserts at the front, body-coloured rear bumper with twin tailpipes, extended side skirts, dual-spoke Style 570 M alloys measuring 18 inches in diameter and body cladding. Additionally, it gets M Sport Suspension which reduces the ride height to 1,588 mm, a drop of 10 mm.
The cabin is visually striking too, thanks to aluminium trim finishers and highlight trim Pearl Chrome finishers. At the centre, you’d see the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and voice control. There is an iDrive Controller on the centre console, which hard to ignore. It comes with selectable input methods.
Additionally, the X1 sDrive20i M Sport gets BMW ConnectedDrive services powered by Operating System 6, upholstery wrapped in Dakota leather, M LEather steering wheel, a hands-free powered tailgate and keyless entry. The 5.7-inch multi-info Black Panel instrument cluster comes with chrome garnishing featuring large and round speedometer and rev counter displays.
Aside from this, the new X1 M Sport gets dual-zone auto climate control, auto-dimming mirrors, cruise control, powered front seats, driver seat with memory function, reverse camera and parking assistant. For storage, you get a luggage compartment of a max 1,550 litres of capacity.
The X1 sDrive20i M Sport is powered by the four-cylinder 2.0-litre petrol engine that’s capable of churning out a max power of 195 PS at 5,000-6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 280 Nm at 1,350-4,600 rpm, mated to a 7-speed Steptronic DCT. On the performance front, it can travel from zero to 100 kmph in just 7.6 seconds before attaining its top speed of 224 kmph. BMW claims that it consumes 6.5 litres of fuel per 100 km.
Available in four exterior colours, including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Misano Blue and Mineral Grey, the newest X1 model will be available from 13th Jan 2020 across the nation. It is priced at RM 233,800 (OTR without insurance).
It comes with complete BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, which includes Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline, BMW White Card (Mobile app and BMW Group Loyalty), BMW Service Online, free scheduled service programme, 2-year tyre warranty programme and 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
