BMW iX coming to Malaysia, check key highlights here
BMW iX electric SUV, which made its global debut last year in November, is now ready to hit the Malaysian roads. The automaker started the EV teasing campaign a few months back that includes some newly-released visuals hinting that the iX launch is just around the corner. It has also detailed the EV specifications on the official website, according to which, the SUV will be available in two trims - xDrive40 and xDrive50. But, whether both will go on sale together or not, is not yet confirmed. Well, for the ones who are waiting for the big launch, here we have listed the iX key highlights, have a look.
BMW iX exterior
In terms of exterior design, the electric car has generously proportioned surfaces and characteristic lines for a unique monolithic shape. The front fascia has a vertically aligned kidney grille combined with the narrowest twin-headlights ever created by the automaker for a production vehicle. The grille functions as an intelligent surface incorporating camera technology, radar functions, sensors, and heating elements.
On the sides, we can see stylish wheel arches (measuring between 20-22 inches), flush door handles, and frameless doors. The aerodynamically designed panels help the EV in getting the impressive cd value of 0.25, along with the window outline that tapers towards the rear. The narrow L-shaped tail lights and large diffuser round off the SUV’s look at the back.
BMW iX interior
BMW describes the iX’s cabin as a “living space on wheels.” The flat dashboard, large display screen, and slim seats altogether lend it a modern and luxurious appeal. The main inclusions are:
- BMW Curved Display: The iX is the first BMW production vehicle to get this display. It merges a 14.9-inch infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
- Lounge rear seats: Due to the absence of a central tunnel, the EV offers a spacious lounge-like atmosphere for the rear passengers.
- iDrive controller on the central console, which is framed by an elegant control panel made of FSC certified wood.
- Full-length “Sky Lounge” panoramic sunroof, which has electrochromatically shades for privacy
- Bowers and Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound system
- Personal e-SIM and 5G
- Remote software upgrade
- Hexagonal two-spoke steering wheel
- Haptic controls as part of the Shy Tech philosophy
- Qi wireless charging tray and two USB-C ports
