BMW has confirmed that the i7 EV will cruise somewhere between 580 and 610 km on a single charge.Talking about the exterior first, the restyled BMW 7 Series will of course feature the over-sized kidney grille with an illuminated contour. The front fascia also benefits from a new set of slim crystal headlights with the DRLs being made by slit-like elements spanning across the edge of the bonnet. Not to forget, the upcoming BMW i7 will also have flush door handles that pop out electronically.
The teaser clip played during the event also gave a brief look at the electric saloon’s cabin. One of the most significant highlights inside is the 31-inch Theatre Screen projector system that BMW showcased at CES 2022 earlier this year. The screen offering a 32:9 screen with 8K streaming resolution will make its debut with the i7.
Coming to the technical details, we know the BMW i7 will be equipped with fifth-gen eDrive technology that is already present underneath the ongoing BMW iX. As per that, the i7 power figures should be around 320 PS and 500 PS. However, according to BMW head of development Frank Weber, “the all-new electric BMW i7 is the most powerful BMW 7 Series.” For this positioning, the EV will have to offer more than petrol biturbo V12-powered M760Li xDrive that delivers 585 PS and 850 Nm outputs.
As far as the BMW i7 range is concerned, the automaker has confirmed the EV will cruise somewhere between 580 and 610 km on a single charge as per the WLTP testing protocol.
In terms of advanced-driver assistance, you will get Level 2+ autonomy with the upcoming i7 along with technical capability to meet Level 3 requirements.
Set to make its global premiere next month, the BMW i7 will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz EQS, Tesla Model S, and Porsche Taycan.
