BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift introduced in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo has received an update of the model year 2021 by BMW Malaysia.  And what’s even better is that it is offered at no extra cost. So, customers get an updated model without having to pay a penny extra, isn’t it great?

Ever since its arrival in the Malaysian market, the 6 Series Gran Turismo has remained an underrated locally-assembled offering. Why do we say underrated? Well, it offers a wide feature kit at a price point that’s impossible to ignore. And with the recent update, the deal becomes even more lucrative.

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift price

As mentioned, the facelifted BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo’s price remains the same as the pre-facelift model, i.e., RM 430,800. However, customers buying the car on or before 30th June
Get to take advantage of the SST exemption, under which the price tag reads RM 417,659.

Note, the price includes a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, roadside assistance, free scheduled maintenance, and customer privilege membership.

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift exterior inclusions

  • Redesigned front and rear bumper
  • New grille
  • 20-inch M light-alloy wheels

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift cabin inclusions

At the same price as before, customers will now get to enjoy a new and big central infotainment system (12.3-inch vs. the previous 10.25-inch unit), 4-zone climate control, head-up display, electric rear blinds, three full-size seats, Harman Kardon audio system with 16 speakers, and two-tier panoramic glass roof.

Also, part of the package are two Dakota leather upholstery tones - Cognac and black, to choose from.

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift engine configuration

Powering the facelifted 6 Series Gran Turismo is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine making a maximum power of 258 bhp along with a peak torque of 400 Nm. The power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.

On the performance front, the mill propels the car from 0 to 100 kmph in a respectable 6.5-second time frame, which is oddly 0.2 seconds slower than before. It can attain a top speed of 250 kmph.

In order to increase the downforce at higher speeds the active rear spoiler automatically deploys at 120 kmph, it retracts as the car dips below 80 kmph mark.

The facelift model offers a fuel economy of 13.70 kmpl, which is surprisingly less than the previous model that offers a mileage of 15.15 kmpl.

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo tech updates

The car now comes with Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus package along with BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant.

The car is available at all BMW authorised dealerships nationwide, however, customers who prefer to stay indoors can book the facelifted model online for RM 3000.
