BMW 320i Sport now available in Malaysia, priced at RM 243,800
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has finally added the much-awaited 320i Sport model in its line-up. Touted as the world’s best-selling premium sports sedan, the 320i Sport carries a classical racing car design. The sedan, built on a lightweight framework, weighs 1,460 kg, a reduction of 30 kg than before and is a more rigid vehicle than ever before.
Talking about the exteriors, the 320i Sport boasts the same LED adaptive headlamps and less aggressive bumpers at the front and rear. The mesh grille on the central intake has been replaced with three horizontal bars layout, while the front LED fog lights with integrated air curtains are inserted into outside air intakes in a horizontal T fashion.
Further accentuating its outside appeal are the sporty and light V-Spoke style 780 bicolour 18-inch alloy wheels and the stunning shark-fin antenna. The rear section gets wrap-around tail lamps and two exhausts positioned on either end of the bumper.
Inside, it gets Venasca leather-wrapped seats, aluminium ‘Mesheffect’ trim, three-zone auto climate control and an exclusive Sport leather-wrapped steering wheel. The sedan is further equipped with the BMW Live Cockpit Plus that features 8.8-inch touchscreen at the centre and a 5.7-inch analogue instrument cluster, 11-colour ambient lighting system, Qi wireless charging tray, contactless boot opening and driver seat with memory function.
The system and cabin features are powered by the BMW operating system 6 and not operating system 7 as before. The OS also powers the BMW Digital Key, which comes with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, meaning you can now lock/unlock and start the 320i Sport with compatible smartphones without using a physical key.
Additionally, the sedan gets the BMW ConnectedDrive feature with Intelligent Emergency Call and Teleservices in case of an emergency or accident. It gets quick help for the occupants. Aside from this, it gets six airbags, ABS, EBD, Isofix child seat anchors, passive cruise control with a braking feature, a rearview camera, parking assist with reversing assist and attentiveness assistant.
Powering the 320i Sport is the 2.0-litre TwinPower turbocharged gasoline engine that’s capable of pumping out a max power of 187 PS at 5,000-6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm at 1,350-4,000 rpm, mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport gearbox. The sedan is said to consume 6.3 litres of fuel per 100 Km, while it’s capable of sprinting from 0-100 kmph in just 7.1 seconds before attaining its top speed of 235 kmph.
Available in five different colours, including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, Sunset Orange and the Mediterranean Blue, the new BMW 320i Sport can be purchased by shelling out RM 243,800 (OTR without insurance).
It comes with complete BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience, which includes Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline, BMW White Card (Mobile app and BMW Group Loyalty), BMW Service Online, free scheduled service programme, 2-year tyre warranty programme and 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.
