Audi Q8 e-tron previewed in Singapore ahead of Malaysian launch

KUALA LUMPUR: First introduced in 2018 as the brand's first series production EV, the Audi e-tron was renamed the Q8 e-tron last year to avoid any ambiguity about its position in the SUV range. The EV has garnered much attention around the world with its cutting-edge technologies and is now set to enter the local market. 

PHS Automotive Malaysia (PHSAM), the official distributor of Audi cars in Malaysia, has been accepting bookings for the all-new Q8 e-tron since last month and will be launching the EV in June this year. Well, ahead of that, the highly-awaited German EV made its Southeast Asia debut in Singapore where it is on display at the Audi House of Progress event.

As a recap, the upcoming Audi Q8 e-tron will be offered in standard and Sportback versions, both in two different trims - “advanced 50” and “S Line 55”. The estimated pricing starts at RM 369,000 and goes all the way up to RM 476,000.

The advanced 50 variants come equipped with a dual-motor setup churning out a maximum power of 340 hp and a peak torque of 664 Nm. Also part of the setup is a 95-kWh battery pack offering a pure electric range of 410 km.

The top-spec S Line 55 trims, on the other hand, are powered by a more potent dual-motor setup that delivers 408 hp and 664 Nm of torque. Here, the battery capacity is also larger, measuring 114-kWh, providing a driving range of 481 km on a single charge.

Depending on the variant picked, the equipment kit includes digital matrix LED headlamps, virtual exterior mirrors, 22-inch Audi Sport alloy wheels, a panoramic glass sunroof, adaptive air suspension, virtual cockpit plus, MMI Navigation plus with MMI touch response, ambient lighting package plus, four-zone climate control, sports seats with Valcona leather upholstery, a wireless charger, Bang & Olufsen premium sound system, Audi pre sense front and rear, parking aid plus, lane change assistant, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert and more.
