Audi Q2 Sport expected to launch soon in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia might soon see the launch of the Audi Q2. A quick look at the Audi Malaysia website reveals the pricing of Q2 Sport 1.4 TFSI variant. According to the listing, it will carry a price tag of RM 219,900. The car made its debut in Malaysia at Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) in November last year, and the company has been accepting pre-bookings since then.

The dark aesthetics of polished metal grille over the engine exhaust and also carries the brand logo in chrome, a perfect contrast over its dark background. Also, featured on the outside are parking aid plus with rearview camera and regular specs like LED Daytime Running Lights, adjustable side mirrors etc.

The interior comes in all-dark theme and retains features like climate control setting, adjustable rear bench, etc. The red straps running over the inner body and at a few places near the steering wheel gives the interior a sporty look. The inside of the SUV is also equipped with all the essential safety features like six airbags and Isofix child seat anchors, the latter being available only for the outer rear seats.

The 1.4-litre TFSI engine of Audi Q2 can make 150 hp at 5,000 to 6,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,500 to 3,500 rpm. The vehicle carries the highly anticipated cylinder-on-demand technology that helps save fuel by reducing consumption, thus increasing the mileage of the mini SUV. The technology automatically shuts down two cylinders when operating between 1,400 and 3,200 rpm while the vehicle is coasting down a hill or any other scenario when there is less need for fuel. With this, the Audi Q2 sport is expected to deliver a mileage of 18.9 kmpl, which if true, is undoubtedly going to hit its competitors hard.
