All-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class launching in Malaysia soon; teaser out!
KUALA LUMPUR: After introducing the new EQS 450 4MATIC SUV at MBFashionWeek KL 2024 last week, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is now geared up to bring another new model to our shores. The automaker recently dropped a teaser on its social media handle, hinting at the imminent launch of the all-new sixth-generation E-Class.

The existing Mercedes-Benz E-Class starts at RM 349,888. However, the upgraded model is expected to be priced higher due to its refined looks and advanced features.Globally revealed last April, the new E-Class boasts a new exterior design, advanced technology, and a range of mild-hybrid engines.
The upcoming E-Class boasts a distinctive front fascia inspired by the brand’s latest electric vehicle. On the front lies an illuminated 3D grille with a progressive or classic look and a prominent black panel connecting the headlights and LED daytime running lights. Further accentuating the design is a power-dome shaped bonnet, flush-fitting door handles, and new LED tail lights featuring the three-pointed star motif.
The new E-Class measures 4,949 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,468 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2,961 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the wheelbase of the next-gen model is longer by 20 mm resulting in improved interior space and a larger luggage capacity, now up to 540 litres.
Inside the new E-Class, you will find Mercedes-Benz’s innovative Superscreen, which integrates a 12.3-inch instrument panel and a 14.9-inch central touchscreen. This advanced display system can also be extended to the optional front passenger screen offering additional functionality.
With the upgraded sedan, the automaker also offers an enhanced ADAS pack, including Active Distance Assist, Attention Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Brake Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist Attention Assist, Parking Package with reverse camera and Speed Limit Assist.
Globally, the next-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered three mild hybrid and three plug-in hybrid powertrains. However, it is expected to get a 1,999-cc 4-cylinder petrol engine in Malaysia. The said mill kicks out a maximum power of 204 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm.
Other than that, a plug-in hybrid model is also likely to be offered featuring the same 204 hp/320 Nm internal combustion engine coupled with a 129 hp/440 Nm electric motor for a combined output of 308 hp and 550 Nm. The PHEV setup also incorporates a 25.4 kWh battery offering an all-electric range of up to 115 km.
