All-new Lexus RX coming to Malaysia soon; here’s what we know

KUALA LUMPUR: If Lexus Malaysia dealers are to be believed, the all-new RX is set to make its local debut anytime this year, it can even be as early as May!

Before the 2023 Lexus RX arrives in Malaysia, let’s get to know a little about it in advance.

Price & Variants

The all-new RX will be offered in two variant options, namely the entry-level RX350 Luxury and the range-topping RX500h F Sport. They are expected to be priced as follows

RX350 Luxury	est. RM470k to RM480k
RX500h F Sport	est. RM510k to RM520k

Note, the above information is not official, however, if true, ours will be unique compared to Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore-spec models.

Powertrain

Powering the RX350 is a 2.4-litre inline-four turbo engine making a maximum power of 275 hp along with a peak torque of 430 Nm. The power is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission.

The range-topping RX500h F Sport, on the other hand, is powered by the same 2.4-litre engine, however, here it makes 371 hp and 460 Nm of torque. The drive is sent to all-four wheels via a Hybrid Transaxle CVT gearbox with a Direct4 all-wheel drive setup.

Design language

The all-new Lexus RX without a doubt is a striking-looking car that sometimes looks straight out of a Sci-Fi movie. Some of its key highlights include modern touches like a new ‘Spindle Body’ grille and a shiny cabin.

Lexus RX Pre-booking

With the rumored May launch, the Lexus RX bookings are expected to open up in early April itself. Thus not giving us much time to sit back and analyze.
