All-new 2023 BMW iX xDrive50 Sport arrives in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Malaysia has expanded the iX lineup with the addition of a more powerful variant called the xDrive50 Sport. The new trim is priced at RM 546,800 (on-the-road excluding insurance), making it RM 143k dearer than the base-spec iX xDrive40 and RM 99k than the mid-spec xDrive40 Sport.

Here are the key highlights of the all-new BMW iX xDrive50 Sport -
- The iX xDrive50 is powered by two electric motors (one on each axle) delivering a total system output of 523 hp and 765 Nm of peak torque. As a result, the EV runs from zero to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds and hits a top speed of 200 kmph
- The motors are fed by a 111.5 kWh battery pack offering a WLTP-claimed driving range of 630 km
- As for charging, the new BMW EV takes 35 minutes for an 80% state of charge when using a DC fast charger. However, with the help of an 11kW AC Wallbox charger, the battery juices up from 0 to 100% in 10 hours and 45 mins
- Design-wise, the new BMW iX variant looks exactly like the xDrive40 Sport and features 22-inch BMW Individual aerodynamic wheels with a 3D polished buff and 17-inch Blue brake callipers
- Exterior colour options include - Mineral White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Alpine White Metallic, Phytonic Blue Metallic, Sophisto Grey Metallic with Brilliant Effect, and Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic
- Part of the interior kit is Interior Design Atelier scheme, BMW Live Cockpit Professional (comprising a curved 12.3-inch instrument console and 14.9-inch infotainment unit), multifunctional seats, BMW Natural Interaction, Comfort Access System, Connected Package Professional, ConnectedDrive Services, Cruise Control, wireless charging, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, Harman Kardon surround sound system, and more
