All-new 2022 Porsche Macan launched in Malaysia; available in three variants

KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP), the official distributor of Porsche cars in Malaysia has officially launched the all-new Porsche Macan range in the country.

The third-gen Macan range consists of three models - base Macan, mid-spec Macan S, and range-topping Macan GTS. The new model showcases a host of updates both on the inside and outside, including an enhanced engine, better comfort, and top-class functionality.

Let’s now discuss each aspect of the new Porsche Macan in detail, starting with the exterior.

The 2022 Macan is a striking looking car with new 3D structural elements that offer redefined sharpness, included in the list is a redesigned nose, sporty-looking blades, and a striking rear diffuser.

Further enhancing the car’s overall appearance are standard elements like a set of LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, Sport Design exterior mirrors, and new 19-inch wheels.

Bringing the car’s exquisite design to life are 14 color options at customers disposal. The list includes the newly introduced Python Green, Papaya Metallic, and Gentian Blue Metallic tones.

Engine

The 2022 Porsche Macan is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged mill that in the base model pumps out a maximum power of 261 hp and 400 Nm of torque.

The mid-range Macan S and range-topping Macan GTS model, on the other hand, is powered by a 2.9-litre V6 biturbo engine that in the former model makes 375 hp and in the latter generates 434 hp.

Helping the new Macan’s chassis cope with the enhanced power are several functional elements namely Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Traction Management (PTM), and 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).

Interior

The cabin benefits from a new centre console that replaces the usual physical buttons with touch-sensitive controls on a flat panel. The gear lever is shorter and occupies a narrower shift gate with chrome surrounds. The gear lever button is now embossed with shift pattern and the Macan embossed trim piece has been moved further back.

The base Macan and mid-spec Macan S model come fitted with a standard Premium Package that includes - a BOSE Surround Sound System, 14-way electric comfort seats with memory package, automatic dimming interior and exterior mirrors, power steering plus, and park assist including reversing camera & surround view.

Other inclusions being - a GT Sport steering wheel, redesigned analogue clock, and a 10.9-inch touchscreen display linked to a Porsche Communication Management infotainment system.
