All-new 2022 Audi Q5 Sportback introduced in Malaysia; here’s what new

KUALA LUMPUR: Audi recently got a new caretaker in Malaysia, PHS Automotive Malaysia. As the brand’s new distributor they have been very proactive and have updated the brand’s local lineup.

Audi Malaysia's lineup now includes - the Q2, Q3, Q5, Q5 Sportback, Q3 Sportback, and A5 Sportback along with the previously available cars.

We have already discussed the 2022 Audi A5 Sportback in detail and now it’s time to elaborate on the new Q5 Sportback. So, let’s get started -

2022 Audi Q5 Sportback: Price

The new Audi Q5 Sportback retails for RM 487,223 on the road without insurance with 10% SST. The tag, however, includes a 5-year, unlimited warranty with three years of maintenance package, and five-year roadside assistance.

2022 Audi Q5 Sportback: Engine

Powering the new Q5 Sportback is a 2.0-litre inline-four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine generating maximum power of 249 PS from 5,000 to 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 370 Nm between 1,600 to 4,500 rpm.

The powertrain layout includes Audi’s trademark quattro permanent all-wheel drive with ultra technology and a 7-speed S dual-clutch gearbox. Together it makes the Q5 Sportback capable of delivering a fuel economy of 12.5 kmpl.

2022 Audi Q5 Sportback: Design language

The new Q5 Sportback is a powerful SUV with a sporty design language. This all-rounder Audi stands out from the crowd thanks to its coupe-like styling that intensifies the vehicle’s aerodynamic appearance. Further adding to its looks is the elegantly sweeping shoulder line, sporty roof edge spoiler, and horizontal trim. The front of the car showcases a wide Audi signature grille with honeycomb inserts and striking air intakes. Overall the car with the S line exterior showcases new design elements at angles, making it impressively dynamic and charismatic.

Along with the new design bit, the car also benefits from technology like - LED headlights with headlight washers, LED tail lights, and 20-inch diamond-turned alloys with 255/45 tyre. Audi is also offering the SUV a black appearance package that gives the car a darkened look.

2022 Audi Q5 Sportback: Interior comfort & tech

Like the exterior, the new Q5 Sportback’s cabin also benefits from many new elements on the design, comfort, and tech front.

On the styling side, the SUV showcases S line interior, fine Nappa leather upholstery, an ambient lighting package with multiple colours, and a comfortable key with a safe lock (keyless access).

Taking care of on-board passengers are comfortable features like a 3-zone climate control system, 12-way electric front seats with electric lumbar support and memory for the driver, and frameless auto-dimming interior rear view mirror.

There is no dearth of space inside, as the Q5 Sportback benefits from a large cabin with a massive luggage compartment, suitable for family road trips and leisure day-outs.

Making the car technologically sound are features like Audi smartphone interface with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto support, Audi drive select (5 driving modes), and Bang & Olufsen premium sound system with 19 speakers, 755 watts, and 16 channels amplifier.

2022 Audi Q5 Sportback: Safety

The new Audi Q5 safety kit includes a 360-degree camera pack, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, Audi pre-sense rear and basic, lane change assist, and park assist with parking aid plus.
