2025 Mini JCW Cooper E and JCW Aceman leaked ahead of debut
KUALA LUMPUR: In China, every car needs approval from the government before it can be sold. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) shares a list of approved vehicles each month. Along with the names, the regulators also reveal the images and specs of the upcoming car, giving us an early, unofficial preview. Recently, MIIT published images of the two upcoming Mini cars.

The cars are currently being produced in China.
Design-wise, the 3-door Mini JCW E looks similar to its prototype (pictured above) showcased at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed. It boasts a sportier look with several blacked-out features, including the Mini logo. JCW badges and a large black rear trim with a 3D checkered flag.
The four-seater EV measures 3863 mm in length, 1756 mm in width, and 1458 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 2526 mm. It rolls on 18-inch wheels with a curb weight of 1670 kg.
The JCW E is powered by a front-mounted electric motor, churning out a maximum power of 255 hp, which is significantly higher than the 181 hp in the Cooper E and 215 hp in the Cooper SE. The top speed is electronically limited to 200 kmph. Feeding the motor is a 51.5-kWh NCM battery sourced from Svolt, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor. It offers a driving range of 440 km on the CLTC cycle.
The 5-seater JCW Aceman, on the other hand, is 4094 mm long, 1754 mm wide, and 1515 mm tall and spans a 2606 mm long wheelbase. The car rolls on larger 19-inch wheels and tips the scales at 1768 kg. In terms of styling, it gets a blacked-out front grille, red stripes on either side of the front fender, and several other sporty elements.
Equipped with the same electric motor as the JCW E, the 2025 Mini JCW Aceman will likely get a bigger 54.2-kWh battery pack.
No interior shots or details are yet available for the John Cooper Works editions, however, they are expected to feature premium materials, and likely some exclusive tech upgrades to match performance enhancements.
The global premiere of the 2025 Mini JCW Cooper Electric and JCW Aceman will be officially revealed later this year.
