2024 Lexus LM launched in Malaysia - two variants, starting from RM 1.2 million

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new second-gen Lexus LM has finally landed on Malaysian shores. It is a more opulent iteration of the new Toyota Vellfire that was launched in Malaysia last year. The new Lexus MPV is offered in two versions here - LM350h and LM500h, priced as follows -

Let’s check out the new Lexus LM in detail - 

Engine and performance

As the names suggest, both variants of the new Lexus LM are powered by hybrid mills. The LM350h is equipped with a 2.5-litre Dynamic Force naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a front-mounted electric motor. The former generates a maximum power of 190 PS, while the latter is good for making 182 PS and 270 Nm. Together, the setup produces a total system output of 250 PS.

The power is sent to the front wheels via an e-CVT gearbox, enabling the hybrid MPV to run from zero to 100 kmph in 9.1 seconds and hit a top speed of 190 kmph. The fuel consumption is 5.5 litres per 100 km.

The Lexus LM500h, on the other hand, comprises a 275 PS/460 Nm 2.4-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i engine and a dual-motor setup (Front motor: 87 PS/292 Nm, Rear motor: 103 PS/169 Nm), The combined system output is rated at 371 PS and 550 Nm. This hybrid setup houses a 6-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system with a century sprint time of 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 185 kmph. 

Dimensions

Based on Lexus’ GA-K platform, the new Lexus LM measures 5,125 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,955 mm in height and spans a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. Compared to the predecessor, it is 85 mm longer, 40 mm wider, and 45 mm taller, although the wheelbase is the same as before.

Exterior

The new Lexus LM features the brand’s “Dignified Elegancy” design concept and looks more striking than the outgoing model. It is equipped with the brand’s latest Spindle front grille, three-projector LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, 19-inch aluminium wheels, and connecting LED tail lights. For added convenience, the MPV gets e-Latch handles on the front doors, powered rear sliding doors, and a powered tailgate.

Interior

Lexus offers the new LM in two seating configurations in Malaysia; the LM350h is a seven-seater with a 2-2-3 seating layout while the LM500h houses only four seats in a 2-2 layout. The interior colour choices include-  Black and Solid White.

The cabin features a bucket load of creature comforts, offering passengers an ultra-luxury vibe. The list includes -

• 21-speaker Mark Levinson sound system (23 speakers with the LM500h)
• 14-inch ceiling-mounted display (48-inch widescreen display with the LM500h)
• A glass panel partition for the rear cabin area (with LM500h only)

Safety 

Both variants of the 2024 Lexus LM come with the Lexus Safety System+ suite, offering passengers a secure driving experience. It packs several advanced bits like dynamic radar cruise control (with stop-and-go function and curve speed reduction), lane tracking assist, lane departure alert, pre-collision system, rear cross-traffic alert, road sign assist, safe exit assist, Lexus Teammate Advanced Park, and Advanced Drive.

Lexus Malaysia offers the all-new 2024 LM in four colour choices - Graphite Black GF, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Quartz, and Sonic Agate.
