2024 Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound debuts with 5.0-litre V8 mill

KUALA LUMPUR: Land Rover has introduced an all-new overlanding version of the Defender SUV, called the Defender 130 Outbound. This luxury off-roader features an array of cosmetic and functional upgrades over the standard model. It also introduces the brand’s iconic 5.0-litre supercharged V8 mill to the longest Defender.

Let’s get to know the key highlights of the Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound -

• The SUV comes with five seats contrary to the eight seats available on the standard model. The flat loading space floor behind the second row measures 1329 litres; it can accommodate all the stuff one needs for camping and climbing 

• The Land Rover Defender 130 Outbound is powered by a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine as mentioned above. The said mill churns out a maximum power of 500 PS and a peak torque of 610 Nm, enabling the SUV to run from zero to 100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds
• Like the standard 130 version, it also comes with the options of 3.0-litre, six-popper petrol, and diesel mills paired with mild-hybrid systems
• Parts of the SUV’s performance-enhancing bits are - the terrain Response 2 traction management system, four-wheel-drive system, and an air suspension 
• Further setting the Defender 130 Outbound apart from the donor model are Premium LED headlights, darkened tail lights, a Sliding Panoramic Roof, Privacy Glass, a black roof, 22-inch Satin Dark Grey alloy wheels, quad outboard-mounted exhausts, and V8 exterior badging

• The exterior colour choices include - Carpathian Grey and Santorini Black
• The interior of this ultra-luxurious off-roader is kitted with a fully digital driver’s display, an 11.4-inch Pivi Pro touchscreen paired with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, What-three-words navigation, a heads-up display, four-zone climate control, Meridian sound system, 14-way powered, heated and cooled front seats, and an air purifier
