2023 Toyota Innova Zenix launched in Malaysia, check full details

KUALA LUMPUR: The all-new fully-imported 2023 Toyota Innova Zenix has finally landed on Malaysian soil. Globally unveiled late last year, the new MPV is the third-generation Innova, which bears the “Zenix” suffix to its name. Make note the new version of the MPV does not replace the existing second-gen locally assembled Innova in Malaysia, rather it will be sold alongside the latter.

UMW Toyota offers the 2023 Innova Zenix in two variants, priced as follows -

Included in the price is a standard 5-year unlimited mileage warranty and an 8-year unlimited mileage warranty for the battery, inverter, and ECU in the case of the hybrid model.

The third-gen Innova gets a new Toyota New Global Architecture with a monocoque structure, which according to the automaker promises better ride quality, comfort, and handling capabilities. It measures 4,760 mm in length and 1,850 mm in width, making it 20 mm longer and 15 mm wider than the second-gen model. The wheelbase of the latest MPV is also 100 mm longer at 2,850 mm. 

Design-wise, the Innova Zenix looks more premium and classy as it is based on the "Premium and Tough" theme. The standard equipment includes -

What sets the Zenix 2.0 V and 2.0 HEV apart in terms of features are the panoramic sunroof and captain seat second-row configuration available with the pricier variant. 

The two variants also carry different powertrains under the bonnet. The 2.0 V is powered by a 2.0-litre Dynamic Force naturally-aspirated inline-four engine which kicks out a maximum power of 174 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 205 Nm of torque from 4,500 to 4,900 rpm. The power is sent to the front wheels via a 10-Speed Direct Shift CVT with a Sequential Shiftmatic system.

The 2.0 HEV variant, on the other hand, is equipped with a hybrid system combining the same NA engine with an electric motor generating a total system output of 186 PS. The engine delivers 188 Nm of torque while the electric motor alone chipped in 206 Nm. Also part of the hybrid pack is a 6.5 Amp-hour battery pack and an e-CVT gearbox.

The all-new Innova Zenix is offered in five colour choices - Metallic Gray, Avantgarde Bronze, Silver, Platinum White Pearl, and Attitude Black (with mica finish).
