One of the most significant updates you find on the 2022 BMW X5 specs sheet is the inclusion of BMW Laserlight headlights. Replacing the older bi-LED units, the new units offer a greater and broader illumination while enhancing visibility on the road. The matrix headlight system comes mated to a Selective Beam functionality to automatically block out sections of the headlights and prevent glaring other vehicles.
Larger wheels
The automaker ditched the previous 20-inch M light alloy Wheels 740 M Bicolour wheels in favour of a new and larger set, i.e., 741M 21-inch alloy wheels. The latest rims sport an Orbit Grey finish.
Rear side airbags
In terms of safety, BMW has brought onboard two additional side airbags for the rear passengers, bringing down the total airbags count to eight.
Active Protection
Another bit contributing to the safety quotient of the locally-assembled X5 is Active Protection. This safety gear comes into play when the car detects an imminent unavoidable collision. It automatically closes the sunroof and windows in that case while ensuring the highest level of safety for all passengers.
Besides these visual tweaks and added safety bits, the BMW X5 xDrive45e M Sport continues to feature the same equipment. It is powered by the same plug-in hybrid setup comprising a 3.0-litre straight-six turbocharged engine mill and an electric motor, which combinedly dishes out a maximum power of 394 PS and a peak torque of 600 Nm. The power is sent to wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2022 BMW X5 Price
As mentioned before, the price of this slightly updated BMW X5 has increased by RM 6,000. It now retails for RM 457,498 (on-the-road without insurance). Included in the price is a sales and service tax exemption that will expire at the end of the month.
