2021 Mini JCW 3 Door now available in Malaysia, check full details here

KUALA LUMPUR: A month ago, BMW-owned Mini launched the latest hatch range (Cooper S 3 Door, 5-door and Convertible) in the local market. And, now here come two new updated models from the house of the luxury carmaker, and that are the 2021 Mini John Cooper Works 3 Door and 2021 Mini John Cooper Works Countryman. The new JCW duo got aesthetic updates inside and out and the latest tech features. So, let's see what the new JCW 3 Door Mini offers over the outgoing model? 

Talking about the exterior first, the lovable hatch gets a restyled front grille with hexagonal bars and bigger intakes. The air scuttles are also redesigned along with the headlights, which are now darkened and integrated with adaptive LED units. The hatch runs on the newly designed 18-inch JCW Circuit Spoke dual-tone alloy wheels shod with run-flat tyres. These are combined with large disc brakes and red JCW-badged callipers

At the rear, the updated kit includes a revamped bumper, a big rear wing, and a massive rear diffuser. However, the tail lamps continue to have Union Jack graphics. The New MINI John Cooper Works 3 Door colour options are Midnight Black, Rebel Green, and, White Silver with a red roof.

Inside, the 2021 Mini JCW 3 Door upgrades cover:

• New ambient lighting
• A new Qi wireless smartphone charger
• 5-inch digital instrument display
• JCW seats with Carbon Black leather and Dinamica microfibre upholstery

Besides, it continues to feature the same 8.8-inch infotainment system, a head-up display, a Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers, toggle-switch start, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a parking assistant, and a reverse camera.

Powering the new JCW Mini is the same 2.0-litre turbo engine generating a maximum output of 231 PS and a peak torque of 320 Nm. It is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to the front wheels. The setup enables the hatch to run from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds before attaining a top speed of 246 kmph.

Just like the predecessor, the 2021 Mini JCW 3 Door is also fully imported, retailing at a price of RM 311,259 (without insurance, inclusive of SST exemption). Included in the price is a four-year, unlimited-mileage warranty and service package. However, if you take a 2-year warranty, the price reduces to RM 303,289.
