2021 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo: Interior in pics

It was only a few months back that BMW Malaysia launched the 6 Series Gran Turismo facelift in the local market. This stunning car continues to be a locally-assembled (CKD) model as before.

Available in a sole 630i GT M Sport variant, it is a more spacious sibling to the ongoing 5 Series.

Before we look at this beauty from the inside, it would only be fair to first praise its external beauty, performance, safety features and after all that know its retail price.

As the name suggests, the BMW 630i GT M Sport is blessed with the M Sport package which includes - an aggressive front bumper with pronounced air inlets that features a 3-section lower intake, Air Curtains intakes in the corner feeding into the Air Breathers outlets behind the front wheels, rear diffuser joined by two trapezoidal exhaust outlets, active rear spoiler on the tailgate (automatically deploys at 120 kmph, can be controlled manually too).

Other exterior elements that come with the recent facelift are - recontoured & widened kidney grille, BMW Laserlight headlamps with LED matrix system, L-shaped LED DRLs, 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in star-spoke style 817 M design wrapped in 245/40 front and 275/35 rear tyres, active rear spoiler, 'GT' badge, M Aerodynamics package, and BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line.

On the power front, 2021 6 Series Gran Turismo gets a 2.0-litre inline-four turbocharged petrol engine that pumps out a maximum output of 258 PS from 5,000 to 6,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 400 Nm from 1,500 to 4,400 rpm. The drive is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic gearbox.

The above configuration helps the 630i GT M Sport complete the century sprint in 6.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 250 kmph.

Moving to the vehicle's safety side the 630i GT M Sport benefits from the following aids - driver & front passenger airbags, side airbags for driver & front passenger, head airbags, front & rear curtain airbags, belt force limiter for front seat, central locking system with electronic immobiliser, crash sensor with closing of the window, ORMW, and glass roof, Dynamic Braking Lights with flashing function, Dynamic Stability Control, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control, Cornering Brake Control, Antilock Brake System with Brake Assist, ISOFIX, runflat tyres with flat tyre indicator, M Sport brake with blue painted brake calipers with M designation, disc brakes front & rear with interior ventilation.

Also part of the kit is the Driving Assistant package and Parking Assistant Plus with a surround view camera. The former includes - Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, crossing traffic warning rear, front collision warning with brake intervention, and rear collision prevention joined by active cruise control with stop & go function.

Panorama glass roof

When open, the panorama glass roof offers a great deal of fresh air and when closed it creates a light-flooded atmosphere. It is automatically controlled either via a push of a button or with the vehicle key.

Ceramic finishers

The ceramic finish on the selector lever, temperature & volume dials, and around the Drive controller, creates a luxurious and high-quality look.

BMW Live Cockpit Professional

This one comes as a primary revision on the facelifted 630i GT M Sport. The system packs in two 12.3-inch displays - a digital instrument cluster and a Navigation System Professional Infotainment, 16-speakers, a range of ConnectedDrive Services, and 464-watt Harman Kardon sound system.

BMW Maps - Connected Navigation

The system will impress you with its accuracy of the predicted arrival time, simplified destination entry, and extremely fast route calculation.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant

This one will act as your personal vehicle expert. Just say natural commands and see how numerous vehicle functions operate. It will also help you understand the vehicle better.

Remote Software Upgrade

The BMW Remote Software Upgrade will keep your car running at the latest software version, so your BMW is always up to date, blessed with all the available and new features. No need to take the car to the service centre, as the update can be easily downloaded via the MY BMW App or via the SIM card installed in the car.

Driving Assistant

This system offers all the required driving information to the driver thus calling for optimum comfort and safety during day-to-day or critical traffic conditions.

Reversing Assistant

This system stores the last 50 meters of the drive path, so it can be retracted if required. The driver is free from the steering work and can concentrate on monitoring the car environment.

Sport seats

The driver and front passenger benefit from sport seats wrapped in 'Dakota' back leather in M look with blue contrast stitching.

Coming to the cosmetic part, being an M Sport car like the exterior, the 630i GT M Sport's cabin also gets some unique sporty bits here and there like -
