2020 Perodua Bezza - First Impression
Perodua has been canvasing copiously for its highly-awaited Bezza facelift through teasers and videos, much ahead of the official launch. The 2020 Perodua Bezza is now available for retail in the country, and interestingly with enhanced standard options, especially for the top-spec 1.3L variant. Nothing changes under the hood, as it continues to use the same set of engines and transmissions from the pre-facelift version.
Unlike the previous version, available with five grades, the new Bezza line-up comprises of four variants including 1.0L GX MT, 1.0L GX AT, 1.3L X AT and 1.3L AV AT. Also, the change in price isn’t too prominent, especially on the base trims with minimal difference in cost. Aside from the above updates, it also receives styling tweaks on the outside and inside the cabin. A slew of new elements improve the overall semblance and make it a better version compared to the outgoing model. In our first impressions of the new Perodua Bezza, we take a look at the overall changes, and what makes it better than the pre-update version?
What has changed on the outside?
Before we begin with the styling changes, let us first look into the dimensions & other details of the compact sedan.
Speaking of styling, the new elements at front enhance its visual appeal. It now comes with more aggressive, redesigned headlamps with LED units, which are now standard across line-up. The face also gains sporty side skirts, another standard fitment on the outside. This can be availed in body paint, dual-tone and black finishing. Moving to the side, there are new two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, power-adjusting ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and rear features refreshed tail-lamps connected with the new chrome central strip.
What’s new on the inside?
Getting inside the cabin will remind you of the predecessor, as it carries most of the styling elements and design. The only change inside is the mild tweaks made to the design of the dashboard’s full-width. However, the overall architecture of the dashboard remains the same.
An additional silver bar on the dashboard is specific to the top-spec AV variant, which comes equipped with a 2-DIN touchscreen system with reverse camera. The silver finishing on the air-vents rounds up the subtle tweaks received inside the cabin.

Is there any change in the 2020 Perodua Bezza specifications?
As for the 2020 Perodua Bezza specs, it comes with the same engines and transmission options, as seen in the previous version. The lower variants continue to get the lower displacing 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine, and the 1.3-litre unit powers the higher grades. Both the engines are paired to a standard four-speed automatic gearbox, with the conventional five-speed manual tranny restricted to the base 1.0L grade.
What is the 2020 Perodua mileage?
The 1.3L engine with Eco Idle delivers claimed mileage of 22 km/l, and the 1.3L X variant can do 21 km on one litre of fuel. On the other hand, the 1.0L unit can deliver 21.3 km/l in ideal driving conditions.
Safety Suite - Is the new Perodua Bezza safer than the pre-facelift version?
One of the most prominent changes in the new Bezza is the addition of Perodua’s advanced safety Assist (ASA) 2.0. It is available only with the top-spec AV variant. The ASA safety suite consists of Pre-Collision Braking up to 80 km/h, Pre-Collision Warning up to 100 km/h, Front Departure Alert, Pedestrian Detection up to 50 km/h and Pedal Misoperation Control.

Yes, the 2020 Perodua Bezza price in Malaysia has been changed slightly over the previous model. While the entry-level grades see a negligible change in cost, the higher variants are slightly pricier. The complete price list for the new Bezza is given in the table below.
The much-awaited Bezza facelift is out and it looks more aggressive than before while changes to the cabin are mild. As for mechanicals, it carries over the same engines and transmissions. Perodua has added its ASA 2.0 on the top-spec AV AT which makes it more desirable.
