2020 Hyundai Tucson to get “very interesting” design

KUALA LUMPUR: The South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer, Hyundai, says that the next-generation 2020 Tucson will flaunt a “very interesting” design. The car is scheduled to make its debut sometime next year. The fanboys who were fascinated with the design of the new Sonata will be very impressed with the new fourth-generation SUV. 

An Australian publication got the opportunity to speak with Hyundai’s product planning manager, Andrew Tuatahi, who said, “Yeah, we’re definitely working on it. We would typically see a final design including all trims, paints, and interior colors about two years before production starts, so we’ve definitely done the final design reviews for Tucson. It can’t come soon enough. It’s very interesting visually, it’s going to appeal to a very broad audience, I think. Probably the biggest shift for the car is going to be style and design.”

However, he did not specify the areas where the design statement will be different in the fourth generation Tucson. The recent spy shots reveal that car’s radical front fascia has got an update and gets a cascading grille, which is influenced by the Le Fil Rouge concept.

This grille not only looks enormous but also extends the entire width of the SUV. Tuatahi has offered a hint regarding the interior by stating, “Expect to see materials more in line with the Santa Fe across the Tucson range. We’ll introduce some new elements with our material design in terms of layout and configuration, things like entertainment and [instrument> clusters will be quite different in that vehicle.”

2020 Tucson will not only get visual updates but also feature improvements in the safety department as the ANCAP has made its crash test evaluations stricter. Moreover, the SUV will get a plethora of engine options, as well.
