2020 Honda Civic - First impression
Honda has introduced the 2020 Civic in the country in three variants priced from RM 113,600. First previewed in September, bookings for the updated Civic opened soon after. The mildly facelifted version receives subtle styling updates on the outside and new equipment have been added to the safety kit. As for 2020 Honda Civic specs sheet, it remains unchanged with the SOHC and DOHC VTEC turbo unit from the previous version powering the updated Civic. Both the engines come linked to Honda’s Earth Dreams continuously variable transmission (CVT) with power channelized to the front wheels.
One of the prominent changed on the new Civic have been the addition of Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver assistance features. Sporting minimal changes, the new Civic remains largely same as the pre-update version, save for some tweaks, though it improves mildly in comparison. What has changed and how it differs from the outgoing model, we will discuss in detail, have a look.
What’s new on the outside?
The exterior of the tenth-generation Honda Civic have been revised scarcely as the piano black trim ‘wing’ replaces the chrome unit in the pre-facelift version. Also, the front bumper gets a restyling with the lower section merging with the black trim. While the boot spoiler and the rear bumper remain as is. The large 18-inch alloy wheels come only with the top-spec variant. The halogen headlamps and fog lamps have been ditched for the LED units. Customers get to choose from five exterior shades including Lunar Silver Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, and a new Passion Red Pearl shade.
How is the interior like?
The cabin receives a few changes including the 60:40 split-folding rear seats, which were missing earlier. Other than this, it carries over all the comfort and connectivity features from the preceding model. There has been no change in terms of fit, finish and material quality. The black fabric seats continue to charm the upmarket cabin, while the talking point inside remains the large 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with rotary on/off and volume control knob along with soft-touch function button.
