2019 Tokyo Motor Show: Honda displays new-gen Jazz
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has officially revealed the new-gen Jazz or Fit at the ongoing Tokyo Motor Show. It has also been informed that the fourth-generation hatch will hit the shores by February 2020. The car is available in five different variants depending on the styling - Basic, Luxe, Ness, Home, and Crosstar.
A more rounded and softer look is what the new car gets. There are less geometric and larger headlamps along with U-shaped LED DRLs. Honda’s Solid Wing Face grille is still present on the car. The A-pillar is thinner, and the windshield wipers get a new position.
Getting inside the car, there is a flat-topped design for the instrument cluster, and a new-gen body stabilising design is provided to the front seats. At the rear, the arrangements are the same as before, while the seats are now thicker and larger.
The fourth-generation Jazz features Honda’s Sensing suite and a front wide-angle camera. It is the first model that uses the Honda CONNECT onboard communication module.
Speaking of its style ranges, the Basic is the entry-level option, while the Home features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Prime Smooth soft padding, and fabric seats. On the other hand, the Ness comes with waterproof materials to build up the seat surfaces, and the instrument panel has soft padding.
The most rugged variant is Crosstar, as it has a crossover-like styling. It comes with 16-inch aluminium wheels along with wheel cladding. The car features waterproof seat surfaces along with soft padding on the instrument cluster, just like the Ness. The Luxe is the most high-class variant in the lineup. It gets 16-inch wheels and platinum chrome-plated elements. Moreover, leather seats are present as standard.
