2019 Malaysia Autoshow: Honda showcases Jazz Mugen Concept

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has put the Jazz Mugen on display at the ongoing Malaysia Autoshow along with the Civic Type R Mugen Concept. The car being showcased is Passion Red Pearl color variant and not in Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearl splashes that were launched in January this year.

The gleaming red colour car is surely going to win a plethora of visitor’s attention. No wonder, why the company chose to display this color variant instead of the available two color options. However, the particular vehicle on display is the concept car that was unveiled in last November at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show.

This hatchback lugs the Japanese tuner Mugen’s bodykit that makes it look more pronounced and expressive. The front features a black colored metal grille with net-like design, which is flanked by compact LED headlights. The bottom part of the anterior gets hefty of claddings, which include a bulged out grille covering, exposed bumper and frequent body cuts to give it an overall sporty outlook. Thereafter, the side profiles get a couple of sweeping strikes that pass through the door handles before ending at the rear. The back is highlighted by a rear roof spoiler, followed by a set of taillights aligned vertically.

Mugen gets the necessary power from a 1.5-litre four-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC naturally-aspirated engine that generates a maximum power of 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. The mill gets the coupling of a CVT gearbox that transfers the drive to the front wheels.

The red colored coaster parked at the stand is not available in Malaysia. The Modern Steel Metallic and White Orchid Pearl color are available with an on-road price tag of (without insurance) of RM 88,600 and RM 88,720, respectively.
