10-seater Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer now on sale in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The official distributor of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in Malaysia, Hap Seng Star Sdn. Bhd has just launched the all-new Vito Tourer in the country. It is on offer in a single Select 121 Extra Long trim, priced at RM 342,036 (on-the-road without insurance, and inclusive of the sales tax exemption that is extended till June 2022). It is to be noted that the Vito Tourer is an exclusive model of the Hap Seng Star and its after-sales will be handled by HSS dealerships and service centres only.

Being one of the largest people haulers in the local market, the new  Vito Tourer is 5,370 mm long (longer than the V-Class), 2,244 mm wide, 1,958 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 3,430 mm.

On the exterior, it is outfitted with LED Intelligent Light System with High Beam Assist Plus, LED tail lights, 17-inch five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, powered sliding doors, power-folding door mirrors, and roof rails. The list of colour options includes Rock Crystal White Metallic, Obsidian Black Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, and Vavansite Blue Metallic.

While the V-Class offers seating space for 8 passengers, the new Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer can seat up to 10 passengers with a configuration of 2-3-2-3. This can be easily customized into different seating layouts with a ‘seat guide rail feature.

Standard interior kit comprises an analogue instrument panel, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto connectivity, leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, Thermotronic automatic climate control for front and Tempmatic semi-automatic for rear passengers, power-adjustable front seats, black leatherette upholstery, and so on.

Powering the new Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer is a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cyl petrol engine that delivers a maximum power output of 211 PS at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 350 Nm at 1,300 - 4,000 rpm. The engine is mated to nine-speed automatic transmission sending power to the van’s rear wheels.

For safety, the German automaker has packed the van with six airbags and many advanced driver-assistance bits like active distance assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, lane keep assist, blind-spot assist, crosswind assist, hill start assist, tyre-pressure monitoring system, and reversing camera.

Now available at all Hap Seng Star dealerships across the country, the new Vito Tourer comes with a four-year unlimited mileage warranty.
