10-seater Hyundai Staria is a hit; over 200 units sold in one month

KUALA LUMPUR: Hyundai Malaysia introduced the all-new 2023 Staria 10-seater in the first week of October and with its launch, it took the auto industry by storm. All thanks to its modern-urban styling, loaded specs sheet, and potent powertrain.

However, at the end of the day, a car’s success is measured by the number of units sold and the 10-seater Staria proved itself with a pretty impressive sales chart. The automaker recently announced it has sold over 200 units of the MPV since its launch and is suggesting making fast reservations given the limited supply.

Hyundai Sime Darby Motor Sdn Bhd (HSDM) managing director Low Yuan Lung said, “Given the limited supply and with the next batch expected in early 2023, now is the best time for MPV enthusiasts to lock in their orders while stocks last.”

Sime Darby Motors Malaysia’s Managing Director, Retail and Distribution, Jeffrey Gan on the MPVs impressive sales performance said, “With more than 200 units sold since its launch in early October, we are encouraged that the Malaysian public recognizes the features of Hyundai Staria 10-seater as a dynamic MPV which offers the best of both worlds, in terms of practicality and performance. We expect demand to only continue to rise in the remaining months and into the new year.”

Powertrain

Powering the new 10-seater Staria is a 2.2-litre turbo diesel engine generating a maximum power of 177 PS along with a peak torque of 431 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. The drive is sent to the front wheels via an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission unit.
